3 Reasons Why You Can't Achieve A Glowing Skin

One of the indications of healthy, beautiful skin is having that dewy glow.

Glowing skin means having a soft, unblemished, fresh, and almost even skin tone.

In short, a youthful complexion.

Most of us had it - even once in this lifetime. We had it before UV rays, pollution, diet, lifestyle, age, and hormonal changes took over.

Now let us time-travel to the moment we once had perfect skin. Let us try to recall why we were glowing around that time.

Can you think of any possible factors why your skin was once youthful? Yep, age.

You were young, and your cell turnover is working at its finest. But just like all the temporary things that exist in this world, your skin does not stay as it is.

If only we can turn back time, right? Because who does not want glowing skin?

We all dreamed of having radiant skin — like what we see in the ads, even if we know that they are either heavily covered with makeup or photoshopped.

But still, we do whatever we can to achieve it.

And there are a lot of beauty products available in the market now that promise that youthful glow. Not only that, hundreds of invasive procedures are easily accessible, too.

But do they always work? Some are lucky to have found it, but not all have found the perfect potion yet.

And you might be one of those unlucky ones who already wasted a good amount of money. But still left with the question, why aren’t they working as promised?

Well, there are a lot of factors that impede your journey to achieving glowing skin. You might be mindlessly practicing some of these mistakes below.

Reason 1: You Binge-Watch Netflix

But, what’s wrong with it? Nothing. You can binge-watch all you want. But it is only bad when it compromises your sleep.

Sleeping at night is your body’s unique time to recover and repair your damaged cells. If you don't get enough sleep, your skin will suffer.

As a busy adult, having quality sleep for 6-9 hours is a luxury not everyone can afford.

But you can do something about it.

If you are not working overtime, go home early and set a goal to sleep before 11 PM. Do not use your spare time at night binge-watching your favorite series.

Watch movies on the weekends or when you are off. Just reserve your nighttime for sleeping.

And to improve the quality of your sleep, turning off your gadgets an hour before bedtime will help a lot. Placed them away from you, too.

The blue lights emitted from your devices can disrupt your melatonin secretion which affects your sleep-wake cycle.

You binge-watch Netflix too much it compromises your sleep which will affect the health of your skin.

Reason 2: You Indulge To Longer Bath Time

After a long and stressful day, we all want to go home in a warm bath waiting for us.

A warm bath has become one of our stress relievers. Why not when it is effective, right?

But it's bad if you are doing it more than thrice a week.

A longer bath will dry out your skin. It will strip the natural oils in your skin. Leaving your skin dry and prone to irritation.

So if you love long, warm baths like us, try to cut it to once a week. And don't forget to moisturize after!

You indulge to longer bath time. It can strip off natural oils which may result to dry skin.

Reason 3: You Love Your Instant Noodles Too Much

It's not only the convenience, but somehow it is addicting. Instant noodles are ultra-processed food.

And ultra-processed food is high in sodium, trans-fat, artificial flavorings, and chemical preservatives. Ultra-processed foods are high in calories but low in nutrients.

It is unhealthy for your body if you keep on consuming ultra-processed foods.

It can affect your cells, causing premature aging. It can also cause serious diseases.

You love your instant noodles too much. Unhealthy diet can affect your skin.

Glowing skin is hard to achieve when all these common mistakes are being practiced.

Your skin, as the largest organ in your body, needs the most TLC.

So remember to be more attentive to it. Give what it needs. Help your skin get that glowing skin naturally. If you do your job well, so will your skin.

Get glowing, beautiful! 💖
